Stormswift Media Logo

Stormswift Media recently contacted me in need of a logo design that would represent, in a very simple and iconic way, their name and identity. They requested the use of the four colors often used to identify video media and a typeface that would give a tech feel. In case you missed it, the four colors make a tornado, or at least a movement of clouds – hence a swift storm.

Designing A Church Logo? Some Things to Remember

7 Comments to Read

bad-church-logo

I like logos, and I certainly like church. I design church logos, in fact. So as I’ve sought inspiration by looking at other church logos, I’ve run across a lot of church “logos” about which I’d have to say, Jesus would not do this! So I thought I’d give some “subtle” advice in the way of some tips and tricks, beginning with what NOT to do… I mean never!!

monogramsI’m in the habit of cataloging creative design links all the time, so seeing a post of 123 logos and monograms over at JobMob didn’t seem unusual, until I spotted a logo I had designed. Cool! Check it out.

SparkJug – Creative Recipes… Explosive Ideas

Be the First to Comment

sparkjug-logo-300

I have this nagging habit of purchasing domain names and playing around with branding concepts but never having the time to develop the ideas to fruition – there are simply too many of them. So I’ve launched a tiny pet project called SparkJug (a play on the whole moonshine, aka “white lightning” thing) to pass along seed business concepts that I simply don’t have time to develop. Leader Lifters Brand & Logo

leader-lifters-logo

Leader Lifters is a brand concept based on a domain name I purchased some time ago with the intention of blogging about leadership. I think it would be an ideal name for an organization or magazine/blog dedicated to the empowerment of leaders. I’ve designed the logo as an iconic style logo with two “L’s” making a box with an inverted “L” pointing upward, giving the sense of lifting. You can see the details about the brand and logo (which are for sale) by following the domain: www.leaderlifters.com.

Encourage University Logo

encourage-u

A local church was planning a Bible conference focused on this theme, “Encourage University.” The logo needed to play off the initials to create the feeling of responsibility – I’m here to learn to encourage you. It also needed to be simple and elegant with little to no imagery – mostly typography.

I Was Branded By A Brander – I Branded A Brander Too!

Nathan Sarlow at Cobalt Cow Creative had a pretty great idea for a blogging project. Allow logo designers to design logos for each other anonymously to see how they interpret the other designer’s vision and work. Nathan included 11 different designers in the project, including me. Below is how Trish Schaefer of Contemporary Native interpreted “eGrace Creative.” And definitely click here or on the image below to read the whole project post. Read the rest of this article »

The Storehouse Logo

storehouse-logo

I designed this logo for our food distribution ministry at church. In the biblical book of Malachi, the “storehouse” was the place where grain was requested to be brought so that there would always be food in the Temple. So the wheat or grain represents God’s store or provision for the poor and hungry.

I created this logo to match the domain, pulpitpoints.com. My idea was to create an online magazine about preaching, but time hasn’t allowed me to pursue it, so I’m selling the logo and domain together via IncSpring. You can view details here.
